General Academic Information
Admission Requirements
- Applicants must attend an information session in January to receive an application. No registration is necessary.
- All applicants must have a valid U.S. Social Security number and/or be eligible to work in the United States.
- All applicants must meet the following educational requirements:
- Be at least 18 yrs. old by the first day of class
- Be a high school graduate with an overall grade point average of 2.0 or have a GED with a minimum passing score of 500.
- Completion of 15 semester credit hours prior to application deadline with a minimum “C” average (from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education) from the following areas:
- Area I Mathematics/Logical Reasoning
- Intermediate algebra or higher - 3 semester hrs. (required)
- Area II Written/Oral Communications
- Speech/Public Speaking - 3 semester hrs (required)
- English 101 - 3 semester hrs (required)
- Area III Information Systems - 3 semester hrs (required)
- Information Systems
- Basic micro computing
- Area IV Natural Sciences - 3 semester hrs (required)
- Anatomy & Physiology (recommended)
- Biology
- Chemistry
- The following paperwork will be submitted along with the application:
- Official transcripts of all prior education
- Copy of high school diploma/GED
- Four character references - form included in application packet
- Self-Evaluation form - included in application packet
- Radiology career questionnaire
- Applicants are required to take the Health Occupations Aptitude entrance examination
Admission Procedures
All interested applicants will receive an application packet that includes an application and program brochure.
- Interested applicants will attend a group information session in January 2008 for the July 2008 class.

- January 14, 2008 from 6:00pm-7:15pm
- January 16, 2008 from 6:30pm-7:45pm
- January 22, 2008 from 5:30pm-6:45pm
- January 24, 2008 from 6:00pm-7:15pm

Huntsville, Alabama
- Prospective students will be scheduled to take the Health Occupations Aptitude Exam
- Submit a completed application packet no later than February 28
- Submit a $75.00 application fee
- Submit official high school and college transcripts
- Upon receipt of the aptitude test results, Program Officials will review test scores, all official transcripts and completed application
- Once the applicant has progressed through the academic evaluation, a clinical observation and personal interview will be scheduled
- Applicants are scored and selected based on the academic evaluation, entrance exam score, observation evaluations, personal references, and interview assessments
Applicants will be notified of acceptance status the second week of April.

Winter Quarter (January - March)
Spring Quarter (April - June)
- Spring Break: 1 week, dates to be announced each year
- Holiday- Memorial Day
- Senior Vacation: 1 week, Week prior to Memorial Day (subject to change)
- Senior Graduation: end of June (date to be announced each year)
- Junior Vacation: 1 week, 1st week of July (subject to change)
Attendance
- Students will be granted four weeks of vacation per year when the school is officially closed
- The six national holidays are observed
- Students will receive 16 hours of personal leave each year
- Students will receive 6 days per year in case of illness, no more than 3 days may be carried over to the second year
- 12 tardies per year will be allowed before progressive discipline up to dismissal occurs
Transfer of Credit
Transfer of credit or request for advanced status is made on a "case by case" basis. Individuals may request transfer of credit and/or advanced status in writing along with the proper documentation. The Credentials Committee reserves the right to accept or deny any request for transfer of credit or advanced status.
Academic Policies
A 75% average is required throughout all courses and dismissal may occur at any time if this average is not maintained.

Graduation Requirements
- All academic requirements completed
- All clinical requirements completed
- All financial requirements completed
- All obligations to either the Huntsville Hospital and/or the Huntsville Hospital School of Radiologic Technology satisfied
- Upon completion of the program, the graduate earns a Certificate in Radiologic Technology, which entitles him/her to take the ARRT examination to become a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
