Admission and Tuition
Admission Requirements
- All applicants must have a valid U.S. Social Security number and/or be eligible to work in the United States.
- All applicants must meet the following educational requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old by the first day of class
- Be a high school graduate or have a GED
Admission Procedures
- Submit a completed application packet to:

- Submit official high school and/or GED transcripts and college transcripts (if applicable)
- Three confidential professional references. (These references can be sent separately by each reference or sealed in an envelope and added to the application.)
- Submit a $75 non-refundable application fee (check, exact cash or money order-payable to Huntsville Hospital). The fee is due at the time of the Health Occupations Exam.
- Contact M. Fariba Tabarrok at (256) 265-8822 or fariba.tabarrok@hhsys.org to schedule the Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) Health Occupations Exam.
- Must complete the Health Occupations Exam prior to application deadline.
- Upon receipt of the aptitude test results, the selection committee will review test scores, all official transcripts and completed application
- Once the applicant has progressed through the academic evaluation, he/she will be notified for a personal interview and clinical observation will be scheduled
- Applicants are scored and selected based on the entrance exam score, professional references, interview assessments, and observation evaluations.
- Once selected for the program, the applicant will be scheduled for a drug screen and background check ($25).

Academic Policies
- An 80 percent average is required throughout the course. Dismissal may occur at any time if this average is not maintained.
- The student will comply with the policies of Huntsville Hospital and the School of Surgical Technology.
Tuition
Tuition including application, test fees, books and uniforms is approximately $500 for the program.
