Through the FirstHEART initiative, Huntsville Hospital, The Heart Center and Huntsville Cardiothoracic Surgeons are dedicated to integrating inpatient and outpatient services to improve communication and convenience and to reduce costs for cardiac patients.
FirstHEART’s focus is prevention, recognition, treatment, research and education of cardiovascular disease. FirstHEART is one of only two projects of its kind in Alabama. As a partner with FirstHEART, Huntsville Hospital follows guidelines established by the American College of Cardiology, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Joint Comission of Accrediation Organization and Medicare, as well as published best practice. A leader in cardiac health, Huntsville Hospital acts as a regional referral center, networking with outlying clinics and hospitals to provide seamless continuity of care for the entire area.
