Huntsville Hospital pioneered care for cardiac patients in north Alabama more than twenty-five years ago. More recently, the hospital joined with The Heart Center, P.C. and Huntsville Cardiothoracic Surgeons to establish FirstHeart of Alabama, a collaborative initiative to improve the cardiac health of the citizens of our region.

- Region’s only mobile intensive care unit designed for continuity of care between facilities
- Staffed with EMT driver, Paramedic trained in Critical Care Transport and Critical Care Registered Nurse
- ICU ventilator
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
- In transport lab work
- 12-lead EKG transmission via satellite phone uplink
- Constant satellite/cell phone voice communications
- Certification of Accreditation for Ambulance Standards
