Athlete of the Week for February Week 1
East Limestone High School
Sports: Basketball and Cheerleading
Our Athlete of the Week has proven to the rest of the world that she works as hard as anyone, is someone who puts 100 percent effort in to each project, and will never back down from a challenge. Meet Bailey Speer, a senior at East Limestone High School, and someone who is raising the bar of success while setting a positive example for future student-athletes. On the court, Bailey has been a four-year starter for the Lady Indians basketball squad and Team Captain for the past two. She has been recognized for her amazing defensive skills and her willingness to always hustle up and down the court. As a cheerleader, Bailey has competed as an UCA All-American for the past three years and has been recognized for her outstanding efforts. When Bailey is not scoring or cheering, she is leading the senior class as Student Council President. Bailey carries a 4.2 GPA and has made the honor roll each year. She is also an active member of Beta Club and was chosen to represent her high school for Girls State. Even with all those commitments, Bailey has loaded her class schedule with plenty of advanced placement classes, which will allow her to receive an advanced diploma. Bailey serves on several local advisory boards and leadership teams in and around her community. She is a Junior Civitan member and has helped with the Juvenile Diabetes Walk and the Downtown Rescue Mission. Bailey also founded the first special-needs cheer team at East Limestone High School. Congratulations, Bailey!
