Athlete of the Week for March Week 3
Hazel Green High School
Sports: Volleyball, Basketball and Softball
With the variety of requirements placed on student athletes these days, it is difficult to call any young person an overachiever, especially when you meet someone like our Athlete of the Week. Katherine Robinson from Hazel Green High School has it together in the classroom, on the field and in her community. In the classroom, Katherine displays all the signs of someone who is committed, determined and a driven by a desire to lead. A straight-A student, Katherine has earned a GPA of 4.33, the highest of anyone in key core classes. In athletics, Katherine earned a varsity spot on the volleyball squad as a sophomore, and during her junior year was awarded the most prestigious volleyball award at HGHS: the Glenda Wright Award for hard work and dedication on and off the court. In addition to captain of her volleyball squad, she suits up for the Lady Trojans basketball team. Katherine earned her varsity letter in basketball as a junior. She also played a few years with the Lady Trojans softball team. Katherine knows that the measure of success includes involvement. Katherine is a member of the National Honor Society, Junior Civitan and was named a Trojan Ambassador. She excels with the French language, and is a member of the French Club and French Honor Society. Katherine pours much of her effort in to her local church. She is heavily involved in food drives, fund raisers and clean-up projects, and she never misses an opportunity to help with Christmas Charities. Congratulations, Katherine!
