Athlete of the Week for April Week 2
Lincoln County High School
Sports: Football & Basketball
Legacy is a powerful word, usually associated with people who have done amazing things, touched lives and made a difference. It might be used by future generations at Lincoln County High School (Fayetteville, TN) to describe our next athlete of the week Riley Malone. He is Valedictorian of the Senior Class with a 4.0 GPA, and on the field and on the court, he is a Falcon, through and through. Riley was named to the 2012 Tennessee All Midstate Football Team. The same year, he was named District Offensive Lineman of the Year and Tennessee AAA District All District. His academic commitment while on the football and basketball team has earned him recognition as the top academic-athlete. Riley also received the Vanderbilt Book Award for being named the most outstanding junior and has been recognized with an academic award from the Rotary Club. As much success as Riley has had in and out of the classroom, his real success comes from giving back. As acting President for the local chapter of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Riley has committed himself to a future in health care while getting others involved health care futures as well. Riley has organized blood drives and other fundraisers benefiting HOSA. He has worked with the Beta Club to donate supplies to the local animal shelter and the Lion's Club on their food donations campaign. Riley's legacy will certainly be one that others will strive to match, but will be very difficult to repeat. Congratulations, Riley!
