Athlete of the Week for November Week 2
Pisgah High School
Sport: Football, Basketball and Golf
Pisgah High School is situated next to Lake Guntersville on the Tennessee River, and the school is bragging that they have the BIGGEST bass in the state -- meet Mitchell Bass from Pisgah High School. Mitchell is big enough to be named Athlete of the Week for the second week in November. When you read through the list of things he has done and is doing, what may seem like overwork to some is just another day in the life of this Pisgah High senior. With the pigskin, he is everything to his team. Mitchell was named Team Captain of the varsity squad in 2012 and was recognized as Player of the Week and Prep Honor Roll winner by his local newspaper. Mitchell was also awarded the Alabama Sports Writer Association, Defensive/Special Teams Award. On the court and the links, he gives 110 percent to keep the Eagles competitive. Academically, Mitchell is ranked in the Top 10 of his graduating class with a GPA of 4.0. The Beta Club, Honor Roll and his dual-enrollment at Northeast Alabama Community College are not enough to slow this stellar young man down. If you add his commitments to Junior Civitan, Spanish Club and FCA, it is clear that Mitchell uses his time wisely. However, he still manages to find time to help at his local church and to other organizations in his community. Congratulations, Mitchell!
