Athlete of the Week for December Week 2
Athens Bible School
Sport: Baseball and Basketball
Meet Blake Cundiff, an Athens Bible School senior who swings for the fences and is ready to take on the next challenge life throws his way. Blake’s focus on athletics doesn’t mean he lets his academics slide – he has a perfect 4.0 GPA in the classroom. He has even earned 26 hours of college credit. Blake was selected to attend the Honors Symposium by Harding College, a two-week academic program to challenge, encourage and uplift juniors in high school. On the court or on the diamond, his commitment to his goals and his team has earned him some pretty high honors. He was named to the 2011 ABCA team and the 2012 Huntsville Times All-Area team. He has been a State Champion and a champion of sportsmanship after being recognized for giving back to his sports. His efforts are not just recognized by his coaches, but also by his classmates. Blake was elected Student Council Treasurer after being named Sergeant of Arms his sophomore year. Blake volunteers in the community with CASA, helping to construct wheelchairs ramps for disabled individuals. He also finds time to work for the Save-A-Life foundation and as a member of the Mayor of Athens’ Youth Commission. Congratulations, Blake!
