Athlete of the Week for December Week 4
Sport: Football / Basketball / Soccer
It is rare to be singled out by the head of an academic institution as one of the most outstanding trendsetters and trailblazers in the student body. Madison Academy senior Nick Haas was nominated by his principal, and it is easy to see why. Nick is a three-sport player for the Mustangs and has been a huge part of their recent success. On the gridiron, Nick was voted to the All-Region Team in 2011 and 2012, was chosen “Team Captain” by his fellow Mustang teammates and helped lead them to a 2012 State Championship. On the basketball court, he is quite the sharp-shooter and was voted best free-throw shooter on the team. Nick also received the Coaches Award for Madison Academy Soccer. He has lettered in all three sports. On the academic side, you can expect much of the same success. Nick carries a solid 3.8 GPA and is currently a member of the National Honor Society, as well as the Spanish Club and the Spanish Honor Society. After the final buzzer has sounded and the final bell has rung, Nick puts on his volunteer hat and gets to work. This Madison Academy stand-out makes time to volunteer with the Special Olympics and with community clean-up projects. He is also the first to lead the troops back at Madison Academy by organizing class projects and service projects. A fantastic student-athlete to recognize and to close out 2012. Congratulations, Nick!
