Athlete of the Year winner
Athlete of the Week for January Week 1
Westminster Christian Academy
Sports: Baseball & Football
It may be a new year, but nothing is NEW about our first Athlete of the Week for 2012. He’s just another OUTSTANDING student-athlete being highlighted for their accomplishments on the field, in the classroom and in their community. Braylen Lashley simply happens to be the very first Athlete of the Week for 2012. This outstanding senior does bring something NEW to the table from Westminster Christian Academy; he’s already locked up a Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. Adding to his resume, Braylen also has not only been a four-year varsity squad starter, he’s also been a four-year varsity letterman. In the classroom, nothing new here, either. Yes, you’ll find the same success for Braylen here, as you would on the field. He carries a 3.9 GPA, is a member of the National Honors Society, has been named to the Huntsville/Madison County Youth Challenge Program and has been recognized for his outstanding efforts in science and academics, overall. Found somewhere between the hours dedicated to his book s and the hours dedicated to his team, you’ll find hours dedicated to his community. Braylen is heavily involved with his church, which exposes him to opportunities to give to those in need. He volunteered with disaster relief after the April 2011 tornadoes. He’s a part of a large community outreach program called GROW, and has even a participated in mission trips on a local and global level. Congratulations, Braylen!
