Athlete of the Week for February Week 1
Westminster Christian Academy
Sports: Cross Country, Soccer and Volleyball
Our first Athlete of the Week for February has probably heard people say to her, “Boy, you make it look easy”, referring to her accomplishments on and off the field. Joyce Hwang is a one-of-a-kind student at Westminster Christian Academy. Starting with her athletics, Joyce has garnered success on the volleyball court, on the soccer field and on the cross country course, to name a few. She has consistently placed in the top five in area cross country events and has been team captain for the past three seasons. She was part of her school’s Final-Four volleyball team. Mainly, she gets a kick out of soccer. Joyce has been a part of the varsity squad for four years, but was recently named team captain of the varsity girl’s soccer team. Academically, Joyce’s GPA is off the charts at 4.17. She has been voted Class President each of her four years of high school and has been awarded numerous accolades for her achievements with Latin. She has also received the Presidential Award and has been a member of the National Honors Society for three years. Joyce has taken most of her free time and given back to her community through programs such as World Changers, “I Love America” and as a member of the Huntsville/Madison County Leadership class. Congratulations, Joyce!
