Athlete of the Week for March Week 1
Ardmore High School
In life you work hard or everything you get. Sometimes things are put in front of you, which makes it a little easier to get those things. Sometimes, you have to take that extra step, go that extra mile to be able to get the things you want and to stand out from the rest. One look at our first Athlete of the Week for the month of March and it would be clear to anyone that this young man has done all the things you can ask of a young adult, and a little more. With those characteristics, itís easy to see why Daniel McNeese is this weekís Athlete of the Week. Heís a bright young man who hails from Elkmont and is finishing his last year of high school at Ardmore High. You can find him wearing number sixty-five for the Ardmore Tigers on Football Friday, where heís exceled on the offensive line. Heís been awarded the Iron Tiger Award by his team mates, received All-County honorable mention as an offensive lineman and was tabbed to be the defensive captain for the 2011 Tigers Football Team. In the classroom, Daniel is at the head of the pack. He carries a solid 4.0 GPA, ranks in the top five of his graduating class, is a member of the Senior Beta Club and has represented his school at the Alabama Youth Leadership Program, Alabama Boys State Program and at the UA-Huntsville Liberal Arts Academic Tournament Day. Daniel remembers that itís more important to give, than to receive. That could be the reason why heís such an active member in his community. Heís on the First National Bank student advisory board, which teaches students about business and banking. Danielís also involves himself with numerous community service activities. With his love of numbers and mathematics, heís happy to help his schoolís math teachers with tutoring others in all forms of mathematics. Congratulations, Daniel!
