Athlete of the Week for March Week 2
New Hope High School
They say, if you never work a hard day in your life, you love what you do. You get that same feeling when you stand next our latest Athlete of the Week. Week 2’s chosen student-athlete is a Brenna Dickinson of New Hope High School. She may come off as your typical “go-getter” of a high school senior. It’s only when you dig a little deeper do you see how much this young person loves what she does. Starting on the softball field, where Brianna has played for the varsity team all four years of high school. Along the way, she’s accumulated recognitions and accolades that have placed her on the All-Metro and All-Area All-Star teams. Most importantly she serves as a role model and team leader for the rest of her squad. In the classroom, it’s the same level of performance for Brianna, so the end results yield great accomplishments, too. She’s perfect with her grades, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and has positioned herself amongst the top 3 per-cent of her graduating class. Brianna is the National Honors Society President for New Hope High School and was nominated to represent her school at “Girl’s State” in Tuscaloosa. She’s taking Advance Placement courses her junior year, where she received the highest average in English, Pre-Calculus and Chemistry. She’s currently loaded down with two Advance Placement classes this year, while trying to juggle time with Student Government, FCA and as a Peer Helper. Her love of helping has truly pushed Brianna to reach out and assist those in need. She has taken mission trips to Mexico for the past four years. She is an active leader in her church’s youth group, volunteers with her church’s soup kitchen and helps with the local C.A.R.E. center. Another outstanding Athlete of the Week Winner. Congratulations, Brianna!
