Athlete of the Week for April Week 1
Scottsboro High School
Sports: Cross Country & Track
Scottsboro High School has a long history of producing outstanding cross-country and track and field runners. Our first Athlete of the Week for April has put the rubber to the road, so-to-speak, for Scottsboro Track and has built an impressive athletic AND academic resume. Lucas Sieb is one of those seniors with plenty of focus and drive. He’s been an individual state champion twice and part of the Wildcats 5A Cross Country Team State Championship in 2008 and again in 2010. The pinnacle of his running career came when he was voted Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year by the Huntsville Times. The focus carries over to the classroom. He’s in the top 20 in his graduating class with a strong 4.1 GPA. Lucas will receive an advanced diploma upon graduation and will head to college having already earned 29 college credits. Even with all these athletic and academic accomplishments, Lucas keeps himself grounded and focuses on his community. He’s taken his love of running and assisted with various charitable races, focusing mainly on races which benefit the American Cancer Society. Congratulations, Lucas!
