Athlete of the Week for September Week 2
Hartselle High School
Continuing our stretch of student-athletes already making their mark this school year, we present Dakota Lawrimore from Hartselle High School. He has been selected Athlete of the Week for the second week in September. Mr. Lawrimore lays down the “law” on the football field as a 2-year starting fullback for the Tigers. He’s certainly someone who has caught the eye of local publications, naming him “Grid-Iron Player of the Year” in Hartselle. He’ll one day, likely, catch the eye of a college recruiter; either with his play on the field, or his results in the classroom. Dakota carries a solid 3.95 GPA walking the halls of Hartselle High. He walks those halls knowing he’s getting his act together, early. A schedule filled with Pre-A.P. and A.P. classes, is enough to make any student buckle-down, but this young man still has time for the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta, the honorary mathematics society. Mr. Lawrimore also finds time to give back. Time spent tutoring fellow classmates and coaching young children basketball fills his day. He also spends time working towards a better tomorrow by actively working as a class officer and on the Hartselle Student Senate and as a high school ambassador. Congratulations, Dakota!
