Athlete of the Week for September Week 3
New Hope High School
We’re at the midway point for the month of September and heading down the home stretch with our final two Athletes of the Week. Our third Athlete of the Week for September comes to us from the same school that brought us Dustin Whitaker, last year’s Athlete of the Year scholarship winner. Could New Hope High School bring home back-to-back Athlete of the Year scholarship winners? They will if Taylor Wilkerson has anything to say about it. She makes a strong case as a student carrying a 4.2 GPA and frequent resident of the “A” Honor Roll. As senior class president, Taylor leads her class while staying active in the National Honors Society and making a name for herself on the “Who’s Who Among High School Students” list. From her skills with a pen and paper, to her skills with a “set” and a “spike”, Taylor is also making a name for herself on the volleyball court with All-County and All-Area team honors. This four year varsity starter understands the importance of staying dedicated; not just to the book or her team, but also, to her community. Taylor has worked with the Special Olympics, Junior Achievement and her community theatre project. She also helps at the Care Center and was part of a construction project to build a new playground for kids in her community. Congratulations, Taylor!
