Athlete of the Week for November Week 1
Hazel Green High School
In a world of high school athletics that are primarily dominated with sports that take place on a field or court, our first Athlete of the Week for November bucks that trend by taking her talents to the links. Alison Hovatter is a senior at Hazel Green High School and if she continues on her present course, could be giving Michele Wie a run for her money on the LPGA. Alison has qualified for the AHSAA state golf championship the last four years, received All-State honors the last three years and has won eight high school golf tournaments since 2007. She finished 4th in the 2010 6A State golf tournament. In the classroom, she shows the same concentration she shows on the golf course. Alison carries a hefty class schedule and still manages a 3.9 GPA. She’s a member of the National Honor Society and represents her school at state leadership conferences. She shows strong ties to her fellow students by working with those who struggle with pear-pressure and guiding them in more positive directions. She has verbally committed to attend Ole Miss in the Fall of 2011 and will be swinging her clubs for the Rebels next year. Congratulations, Alison!
