Kid Friendly, but very serious
Kids Care, the region’s pediatric critical care transport program, is available 24-7 from Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. But Kids Care is more than the region’s pediatric transport, it is an “ICU on wheels,” staffed by highly trained pediatric and neonatal transport medical teams. From hospitals throughout the region, injured and critically ill children and newborns are transported to Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children to the area’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Kids Care-One, the dedicated transport vehicle was made possible through the cooperation of the Hospital and Huntsville Emergency Medical Services Inc. (HEMSI), as well as through the generosity of more than 50 grandfathers who contributed the funds to Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
As one of only three children’s hospitals in Alabama, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children provides a specialized level of care. If your child requires that specialized care, then Kids Care is your link to that service. In fact, with Kids Care, that specialized care begins when your child is on board.
