Huntsville Hospital restricts visitation to essential caregivers only

With the dramatic surge of Covid-19 hospitalizations in our community, Huntsville Hospital has adjusted its Visitation Policy, effective immediately, to ONLY ALLOW ESSENTIAL, DESIGNATED CAREGIVERS to support non-Covid patients. The new restrictions apply to the Main facility, as well as Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children and Madison Hospital.

The hospitals will continue to prohibit visitation to patients with Covid-19, except in special circumstances, such as end-of-life care. In such cases, compliance with personal protective equipment is required.

For all patients, the hospitals have designated family call-in times between 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and 9:30 - 10:30 p.m. by calling (256) 265-1000. Other updates will be provided as needed by the clinical team throughout the patient’s hospitalization.

Thank you for understanding these changes to our visitation policy. Our goal is to provide your loved one with the very best care we can and to minimize all health risks for our patients, their families and our staff.

Other guidelines remain the same. Please refer to the websites of Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children and Madison Hospital for updated information.

These changes remain in compliance with Governor Kay Ivey’s Safer-At-Home Order of November 5, 2020.
