U.S. News recognizes Huntsville Hospital as "High Performing"

Huntsville Hospital fared well in U.S. News & World Report’s latest evaluation of America’s best hospitals.

U.S. News ranked Huntsville Hospital the second-best hospital in Alabama for 2019-20, trailing only UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The analysis was based on a variety of factors including outcomes, patient volumes, nurse staffing and availability of certain clinically proven technologies.

In addition, Huntsville Hospital was rated “High Performing” for six medical procedures and/or conditions studied by U.S. News:

Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
Aortic valve surgery
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Colon cancer surgery
Heart bypass surgery
Heart failure

For its annual report, U.S. News evaluated data on more than 4,600 hospitals nationwide to help patients decide where to go for surgical procedures, inpatient care and specialty treatment. Those recognized as “High Performing” for a specific procedure or condition scored in the top 10 percent of all hospitals studied.
