As part of the hiring process, you are required to have a pre-employment appointment with Huntsville Hospital Employee Health Office prior to your orientation date.

  • Select below the orientation date you are scheduled to attend. You can locate the date on the onboarding email.
  • Select the best available date/time for your pre-employment appointment and complete the registration. You will be required to pay a fee of $25.
  • You will receive a confirmation email and a reminder email 1 day prior to your appointment. It is very important to not miss your appointment.

Plan on arriving 10 to 15 minutes before your appointment time to fill out any paperwork. Make sure to bring all the necessary paperwork (refer to the appointment confirmation email).
Allow 30 minutes for the completion of your appointment.

RN Temporary Position - 13 week assignment

Day Shift: $50/hr • Night Shift: $60/hr

Job description for temporary registered nurse assignment

Overview: **This is a temporary experienced RN assignment in Huntsville, Alabama.** The RN's role is to identify patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The RN evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.

  • Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (renewable once for a total of 26 weeks/year)
  • Assignment Type: Temp with full-time hours (PRN Status)
  • Assignment Shifts: Day $50 per hour & Night $60 per hour. 48 hours per week for 13 weeks / rotating weekends; Eligible for overtime. Not eligle for lump sum extra shift incentives, eligible for shift differentials.
  • Assignment Benefits: Limited benefit plan (High Deductible Health Plan ONLY, no disability/life insurance, ETO accrual or 401(k) matching)
  • Internal candidates can apply. However, their current position may or may not be available after the 13 weeks or 26 weeks assignment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of state board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure
  • Experience Preferred: Minimum of 2 years experience in Critical Care and/or Emergency Care strongly preferred, with the flexibility to work in Med-Surg Units. For internal candidates, minimum of 1 year of service in current position.
  • Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS is required before the conclusion of the orientation period. ACLS is required if applicable to a specific unit.

What happens when I apply?

Every application is sent to a Human Resources recruiter. The recruiter reviews qualifications, work history, education and references. We receive a large number of applications for every position, and the strongest candidates for each are forwarded to the hiring manager. Those selected for interview may be called by either the recruiter or hiring manager. A member of our Human Resources team will call the chosen candidate to extend a job offer.

How many jobs can I apply for, and do I have to fill out a separate application for each job?

You can apply for three (3) different jobs per week. If you use the same account that you previously set up, you do not have to fill out another resume portion of the application, but you do have to complete a different question set for each application you submit. Please note, you must apply for an open, posted position. We cannot accept a generic application or resume mailed to our office.

What happens if I forget my username and/or password?

How can I change my telephone number or update my information?

To update any information on your application, log into My Job Finder with your username and password. Click on "My Resume."

What does "App Filed" mean?

"App Filed" means that your application was reviewed by the recruiter but was not chosen for an interview because your qualifications do not meet our current needs, we have received a sufficient amount of applications, or the job does not meet your salary or shift expectations.

How do I check the status of my application?

To check the status of your application or to find out if the position you applied for has been filled, log into My Job Finder with your username and password. Locate the "Status At A Glance" box, click on the applications you have sent, and then review the "Current Status" of the application.

How do I apply for a position at another facility or affiliate within Huntsville Hospital Health System?

Is there an employee wellness program?

HealthWorks, Huntsville Hospital's free employee wellness program, helps employees identify potential health problems and develop strategies and techniques to proactively manage personal health. To receive program incentives, participants must complete a biometric screening and health risk assessment, followed by health coaching if necessary.
